Express Entry

Eligibility Criteria — Programs & Requirements

Candidates must satisfy the requirements of at least one of the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) programmes in order to be eligible for Express Entry Canada:

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

The Federal Skilled Worker Program is Canada’s main economic immigration route. Requirements include:

• Work Experience: At least one year of continuous full-time or equivalent paid work experience in a skilled occupation under the National Occupational Classification TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 in the previous ten years.
• Language Ability: Validated intermediate or better language ability in English or French.
• Education: For candidates educated outside of Canada, an educational credential (certificate, diploma, or degree) and an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report are required.
• Points Requirement: Candidates must obtain at least 67 points in addition to meeting the FSWP’s minimum work, language ability, and education requirements.

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

International students and foreign workers with Canadian experience are eligible for permanent residency under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) programme. Requirements include:

• Work Experience: At least one year of specialised, technical, or skilled work experience in Canada within three years of the application date.
• Language Proficiency: Meet the requirements for language proficiency in English or French.
