Documents Required — Complete Application Guide

Various documents are required at various points for the Express Entry application, during Canada Immigration process:

To Submit a Profile

You do not need to upload any documents, however you may require information from some or all of the following:

• Passport or Travel Document: A passport or other means of travel.
• Language Test Results: Results of language tests (English or French).
• Education Documentation: If applying through FSWP or to earn points for education obtained outside Canada, documentation of Canadian education or an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report.

Documents for Your Application for Permanent Residence

The documents you used to create your profile must be uploaded if you are extended an application invitation. The majority of applicants must also upload the following:

• Police Certificates & Medicals: Police identification cards and physicals (medical exams).
• Proof of Funds: Evidence of money (financial support).
• Birth Certificate: For declaring dependent children.
• Use of Representative Form: If you have recruited a representative.
• Common-Law Union Form: Required if you’ve listed “common-law” as your marital status.
• Marriage Certificate: If you’ve indicated that you’re married.
• Divorce Certificate & Separation Agreement: If you have indicated that you are divorced.
• Death Certificate: If you’ve declared yourself to be “widowed.”
• Adoption Certificate: If a dependent child’s status is designated as “adopted.”

Other Documents

Only if it is mentioned in your customised document checklist are you required to submit these. If you don’t provide these documents, your application might not be denied or rejected. They are solely used to determine whether you are qualified for the programme you are applying for.

• Proof of Canadian Relative: Evidence of your connection to a Canadian relative.
• Digital Photos: To verify your identification.
• Alias Verification: Another name to verify aliases.
• Release of Personal Information: A document authorising the release of personal data to a specific person.
• Additional Documents: Any more files that you deem necessary for your application.
